Getting to know each other day🤩
On the 21th of july 2024 the Youthcracy project started. One of the leaders, Jakub, gave the future citizens an explanation of how the simulation will work.
Then participants were divided into seven groups in which they were supposed to visit the workshops about every role of the simulation. At the end of every workshop the groups were given a test. After passing the tests, participants got signatures from every leader. Then citizenship ceremony took place and everyone got their ID card.

Then, citizens created their parties and alliances. Two parties, "SUPAR” and “AIM,” presented their ideas to others.
Citizens were supposed to vote for the parliament, and eventually, SUPAR got more votes than AIM. The new parliament formed a government consisting of three candidates from SUPAR and two candidates from AIM.
During the following assemblies, the president elected 3 judges, and the government and the parliament nominated 3 policemen and 2 secretaries.
In the evening, the government organized some activities, and citizens could choose between playing volleyball, watching a movie, or playing board games.
The Government
After departing with the bus in the morning, the Youthcracy citizens started their journey through Luxembourg City with a visit to the Luxembourgish Parliament.
The visit of the Luxembourgish Parliament was followed by the visit of the European Parliament, where the Youthcracy citizens played a simulation game.
Later, everybody enjoyed the city and its culture in smaller groups.
Today started off strong with two trials, one about the lost volleyball case and one about the water incident. Let's hear what happened.
The trial started in full force, accusations and objections flew around. The five accused tried defending themselves, but the judges did not change their minds. A proposed punishment was the withdrawal of their right to vote. Another option was to make them pay for damages, like the parliament suggested because the ball was public property. The punishment was not lowered.
Last night, a participant was awaked because of spilled water. The main suspect was Fares, also suspected of throwing stones at people. The punishment chosen by the judges was to clean the dirty dishes after lunch and dinner.
Three parties presented themselves for the elections, the AIM party, the CIEL-RAID party and the T-party.
⚠️Results of the second election :
the second Parliament : Simone Stevano, Marianna, Louis, Alex, Johannes
the second Government : Chloe, Beatrice, Daniel

the third Parliament : Beatrice, Vicky, Dominika, Joel, Chloe
Even though it was tiring for some to get there, everybody managed to do it thanks to music and Alicia's singing. After a visit to Bouillon Castle and an original bird show that challenged some of us to conquer their fears and impressed others, citizens of Youthcracy were free to enjoy Bouillon.
After a long train ride to get there, citizens of Youthcracy were free to explore Brussel city be it through museums, restaurants, landscapes or the omorrowland festival.
In the evening, we had grilled marshmallows, bonfire dances and games until the rain game and pushed everyone back into bed.
When we woke, the rain was still pouring, so the Government prepared some games to play inside for everyone to enjoy the last moments of the simulation. AND THEN IT WAS OVER! The project leaders closed the simulation, and for the rest of the day, we thought and learned from our common experiences. However, we also prepared for the intercultural evening, which started with presentations and ended with bellies full of food.
